The East Rand Speedboat Club was started around the mid 50's. The Club is based on the edge of the Beautiful
C R Swart Dam in Rynfield Benoni and provides recreational amenities for members which include, Boating, Picnicking, Water Skiing, Wake Boarding, Tubing and from time to time Boat Racing.
A Fully Licensed Social Bar and Hall provide for functions like Weddings, Parties or other Activities.
The Club is structured as a family club for members only, However, Day visitors are allowed for limited visits, this is aimed at giving people a chance to experience our facilities, meet other friendly members and then join the club as a full member.
The Dam is surrounded by the Prestigious Ebotse Golfing Estate which opens up the opportunity for our members to visit the Clubhouse Restaurant and Coffee shop which is located on the waters edge and accessible by boat. (Ebotse dress code applies)
Wildlife within the estate include Springbuck which can be seen from the water.
Egyptian Geese are also at home around the outskirts of the dam along with local Coots and other birds.
East Rand Speedboat Club has evolved into an exquisite day getaway for Picnics and Braais with Family and Friends.

Open friendliness has highlighted this clubs excellent reputation over the years as we continue and strive to ever improve this gem.

Safety at our Club and that of our Members is of Utmost Importance.
We have strict rules and controls in place to ensure that boating is enjoyed safely.
Gate Checks ensure that all vessels are worthy of operating and have valid COF's and Buoyancy documentation.
A Valid Skippers License is also one of the requirements for boat usage on the dam
Safety Officers who are Committee Members are on duty at the club on Weekends

National Sea Rescue Institute
N S R I is manned by over 1000 volunteers comprised of 31 bases around the coast including 4 inland dams.
Station 27 Gauteng which is based here at our club comprises of highly trained members including new members doing ongoing training
Having NSRI at our club to assist with events and also to do training for their members adds to the safety aspect at our dam.
This not only ensures that Safety is Boosted, It provides us with the added confidence that should and accident happen,
we have well trained personnel at hand to do what they do best.
